The theme of the conference is: "'''Te Ara Mokoroa'''", a Maori phrase which describes “The Long Abiding Path of Knowledge”. Thus, we want to emphasise the mathematical path students take between school and university, both in bridging courses & adult education, through to teacher training, as well as the links between the different domains of the mathematical sciences:
The theme of the conference is: "Te Ara Mokoroa", a Maori phrase which describes “The Long Abiding Path of Knowledge”. Thus, we want to emphasise the mathematical path students take between school and university, both in bridging courses & adult education, through to teacher training, as well as the links between the different domains of the mathematical sciences: mathematics, statistics and engineering. We are interested in hearing any of a wide range of topics on the teaching of mathematics and statistics at university level. In the past, for example, we have had papers on technology (computers, graphics calculators, CAS), bridging courses & the transition from school to university, large first year classes, modelling, teacher training, and the teaching of specific topics (e.g. analysis, algebra).
